'Twas the night before Christmas and throughout the town
All eagerly awaiting those familiar sounds.
They're the sounds that were brought to us long long ago.
They're the sounds that we heard through the rain, sleet, and snow.

They're the sounds that we heard year after year.
They're the sounds that bring smiles, the sounds that bring tears.
They're the sounds of peace, of love and of joy.
They're the sounds I remember since I was a boy, singing ...

Softly, sweetly thro' the air, Hear the angels singing:
Christ the Lord is born today, Peace on earth is bringing.

They're the sounds that bring back warm memories.
They're the sounds that we hear 'round the old Christmas tree.
They're the sounds that we hear on this holy night.
They're the sounds that we hear 'neath the star shining bright, singing ...

Softly, sweetly thro' the air, Hear the angels singing:
Christ the Lord is born today, Peace on earth is bringing.

They're the sounds that tell us of a newborn King.
They're the sounds that tell us of the good news he brings.
They're the sounds inspired by the good Lord above.
They're the sounds that we hear in this town that we love, singing ...

Softly, sweetly thro' the air, Hear the angels singing:
Christ the Lord is born today, Peace on earth is bringing.
