The Lantern was revived again in 1972.
The Lantern is carried by the Associate Members
to signal the arrival of the Carolers during the
night. These young men serve their waiting
time, while learning the songs and customs
of the Carolers in hopes of becoming a
Caped Member. Associate Members can
be seen wearing the 1948 blue cape.
